Pirelli Voronezh: New life for forest

Voronezh Tyre Plant partner of a campaign
for the safeguard of forests

In order to enlarge Russia’s green treasures, Pirelli acquired 5,000 young oaks to be planted in one of the forestry near Voronezh. About 20 employees of Voronezh factory including VTP General Director and Heads of production, R&D and HSE functions took part in the campaign. Some employees joined with their children.

5,000 little oaks were planted on an area of 2.3 hectares previously affected by fires and drought. Due to the closed root system planted oaks have good adaptability and suitable for planting at any time of the year.

“Although such social initiatives are usual for Pirelli it was the first time when Voronezh Tyre Plant took part in such campaign, – said Yuri Gribanov, VTP General Director. – The company supports plenty of charitable and social projects around the world. Developing production in Voronezh we plan to support social responsibility values not only among our employees but we also intent to involve local community into various social projects.”
