On 3rd December, International Day of People with Disability, Türk Pirelli Tyres Company has hosted disabled students of Köseköy Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center.
Executives including Industrial Director Hakan Yalnız and Quality Director Bahadır Özer engaged in the activity, talked with the students and gave them presents which made the disabled children very happy.
Children had their dinner in the canteen, sang and played different songs and were very happy when cutting the cake prepared for them.
Industrial Director Hakan Yalnız also made a brief speech about the importance of the day and delivered his thanks both to teachers and representatives of Rehabilitation Center.
The long-lasting relationship between Pirelli and EU-OSHA started in 2008-2009 with the “Risk Assessment” campaign and continued with the following campaigns in 2010-2011 and 2012-2013, respectively named “Safe Maintenance” and “Working Together for Risk Prevention”.
At the core of the “Healthy Workplaces, Manage Stress” Campaign there are psychosocial risks and work-related stress, in which Pirelli is constantly active promoting a healthy work environment where employees feel valued and psychosocial risks are properly managed and tackled.
On this, inside the “Excellence in Safety” program already launched in all Pirelli’s industrial plants and developed with DuPont Sustainable Solutions, there’s a description of the stress phenomenon and its effects; in details, it is highlighted how all the activities developed by the Program, such as improvement of the organisational structure, clarity of tasks and roles, workers empowerment and improved communications, can guarantee an adequate work environment which is also safer and more stimulating for workers’ wellbeing.
This program is consistent with the continuous promotion of Safety Culture, which is considered by Pirelli a core element at the basis of a responsible and sustainable growth.
The municipality of Slatina, where Pirelli’s facility in Romania is located, will take part in the third edition of “Fii Orasul Reciclarii 2015”, the competition that awards the title of “city of recycling” in Romania, to be decided in June.
The municipality that collects the largest amount of waste will be rewarded with the construction of a playground made from recycled materials.
Our facility in Slatina, which has always placed great importance on environmental awareness, apart from supporting Slatina’s municipality in this competition, promotes, in partnership with local institutions, several educational projects for citizens on recycling.
Pirelli Slatina has also been participating in “Let’s do it Romania” for several years now, an initiative that involves many Pirelli employees volunteering to clean up the parks around Slatina.
