PIRELLI CONFIRMED IN THE ETHIBEL SUSTAINABILITY INDEX EXCELLENCE EUROPE

Pirelli & C has been reconfirmed as member of the Ethibel Sustainability Index (ESI) Excellence Europe.

The Ethibel Investment Register , at the basis of the ESI Excellence Indexes, is independently defined by Forum ETHIBEL, directly involved in the selection, research and analysis of the leader companies in Corporate Social Responsibility.

The selection activity is supported by the rating agency Vigeo, expert in the analysis of economic, social and environmental performance of European Companies.

PIRELLI LAUNCHES INTER CAMPUS PROJECT IN VORONEZH

Pirelli supports many cultural and sporting initiatives around the world, and its fruitful collaboration with Inter Campus is a perfect example of our company’s commitment to social responsibility. I am pleased that today, thanks to the important cooperation of the regional authority of Voronezh, and our partner Rostec, the Inter Campus project has been launched here in Russia, too, one of the most important business areas for our company.”

With these words, Marco Tronchetti Provera – Pirelli Chairman and CEO – opened the first event of the Inter Campus project in Voronezh. Alexey Gordeev – Governor of the region of Voronezh – Sergey Chemezov – CEO of Rostec – and players from PFC CSKA Moscow were also present.

Inter Campus is one of the most significant and long-lasting social activities of Pirelli in Russia. It’s a contribution to the sport development in Voronezh region and to solving problems of social adaptation of children from boarding schools and of course it is joy of game.

For over 10 years, Inter Campus has been helping children in 29 countries around the world, sharing world-class coaching techniques with more than 200 local football coaches, and, most importantly, giving children the right to play.

Pirelli supports several Inter Campus projects, not only in Russia, but also in Romania, Mexico and United States.

PIRELLI GERMANY SIGNS CHARTER ON COMPATIBILITY OF WORK AND CARE

On July 16th, Elvira Jung, human resources manager of Pirelli Deutschland GmbH, signed the Charter on the Compatibility of Work and Care, confirming Pirelli Germany commitment to give active support to its employees taking responsibility for relatives needing care.

By signing the Charter, the company is encouraging a culture of respect and appreciation of those taking responsibility for relatives who need care, recognizing their important social role.

During the ceremony at the Hesse House of Commerce, Minister of State Stefan Grüttner praised the new signatories of the charter: “Companies which face up to the impact of demographic change, and which commit themselves to making work and care compatible, will be undertaking a social responsibility”.
