Home/Prestige/Porsche
The Stuttgart-based manufacturer began producing cars in 1948 with the 356, a compact sports coupé derived from the legendary Volkswagen Beetle, also designed by Ferdinand Porsche. An “all at the back” vehicle: rear traction and an engine with overhanging opposed cylinders. This structure was a sign of the unique technical direction of Porsche cars.

With the advent of the 911 in the mid 60s, the escalation in power became unstoppable and there was a demand for tyres able to transmit this power to the ground and keep even the most aggressive and powerful Porsche cars on the road. As it does for all its demanding customers, Pirelli has always offered Porsche tyres that can offer both safety on the road and performance on track.

P Zero™

911

  • The rear flat-6 engine and the increased camber, particularly at the rear axle, requires an asymmetric tyre structure, with different measurements between the outer and inner shoulder, to guarantee the best tread contact for the greatest transfer of power to the ground
  • The high rigidity compounds use nanocomposites. The greater chemical uniformity of these compounds allows for deformation to be limited, thus improving precision in corner entry
  • Specifically, for the Turbo versions, the compound is softer than the normal P Zero™, though compensated by a fuller tread design and a stiffer structure

718

  • The new compound, with high silica content, ensures excellent performance in the wet and lower rolling resistance: safety and reduced consumption
  • A tread design that limits noise levels in acceleration, for increased comfort
  • Bead reinforcements and special dual compounds to increase lateral rigidity: greater sports behaviour without compromising on comfort

PANAMERA

  • Enhanced vehicle stability thanks to the use of hybrid materials and stiffer substrates
  • Differentiated compound: an outer part focused on maximum grip, an inner part that reduces rolling resistance
  • Particular attention is paid to comfort with the use of a specific belt angle

MACAN

  • The development of dedicated high rigidity-belts to ensure rear stability, containing the more significant rolling typical of SUVs
  • High-grip compounds to ensure increased grip in any conditions, whether on a wet or dry surface
  • A tread design with innovative channel geometry to make each knob stiffer, thus improving stability

CAYENNE

  • With the Cayenne, Pirelli homologates a P Zero™ for high performance SUVs for the first time, varying the design and optimising the structure to manage the increased weight/power ratio
  • The use of hybrid materials to reduce the weight, stabilising performance by lightening the unsuspended masses
