The new Scorpion All Season SF2 is the Pirelli tyre for SUVs that frees motorists from this particular concern, allowing them constantly to comply with road regulations. Available in more than 30 sizes from 17 to 21 inches, the new four-season tyre offers excellent performance levels both in cold and hot weather, as confirmed by the M+S symbols on the shoulder accompanied by the 3PMSF marking (the snowflake inserted in a stylized mountain with three peaks) and the test certifications required by European legislation.

THE SPECIAL V SHAPE OF THE TREAD GROOVES
The compound and tread pattern of the Scorpion All Season SF2 take its cue from the one already developed for the Cinturato, with some specific features linked to the characteristics of SUVs. The directional design of the Scorpion All Season SF2 tyre tread is in fact distinguished by the strong presence of V-shaped grooves that translate to two advantages: they keep the snow in place and foster greater control of the vehicle on snow-covered surfaces and help in rainy weather to allow the water to flow away from the tread while maintaining contact with the ground, helping to prevent sudden and dangerous aquaplaning.
THE TREAD CHANGES FROM WINTER TO SUMMER
When driving in winter at low temperatures, the tread sipes remain open for better braking on snow, whereas when braking in dry or wet conditions at higher temperatures, they actually close up, increasing the rigidity of the tread blocks, to generate more grip on the road surface. This adaptive behaviour is due to 3D tread sipe technology, which, thanks to its ability to close up into a compact surface on the snow, turns a winter tread into a summer tread, granting better control of the vehicle in all dry and wet conditions.
To support the driving dynamics and the weight of SUVs, reinforced tread blocks have also been introduced, which are larger in size than those applied to the Cinturato All Season SF2, generating a lower rolling noise emission.

Thanks to innovative components, the Scorpion All Season SF2 tread compound has a dual core: soft and adaptable for cold and wet conditions, rigid and stable for hot and dry conditions. The materials used to make it also guarantee mobility at low temperatures and low rolling resistance, for lower fuel consumption or longer battery life, as shown by the European label values A and B for rolling resistance. The environmental benefits do not end there: indeed, the more rigid compound also fosters a lower tread consumption and consequently optimal tyre performance throughout its life, as well as more mileage.
