A lap time of 7:32.070 minutes marks a new record on a circuit that, more than any other, pushes every component of a car to its absolute limits. Equipped with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tyres, the all-new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ has become the fastest vehicle in its segment at the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
AMG Vehicle Dynamics Development engineer Kevin Berger, set the record on 28 July 2026 with the car's Race mode engaged under ideal summer conditions: an ambient temperature of 24°C and a track temperature of 30°C.
With 500 kW (680 hp) of peak power and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds¹, the new Mercedes‑AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ advances into spheres that were previously unthinkable in this segment. Behind this surge in performance are three axial flux motors: two on the rear axle and one on the front axle.
Crucial to transferring this impressive power to the asphalt were the P Zero Trofeo RS tyres — Pirelli's semi-slicks developed for the track but fully approved for road use. They were selected by the Three-Pointed Star's performance division to conquer the 'Green Hell', one of the world's most demanding racetracks.
