A bespoke P Zero developed to put the full power of the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET's 1,000 hp twin-turbo V12 on the road, enabling the car to reach a top speed of 360 km/h. The vehicle is the open-top version of the German brand's high-performance Grand Touring Coupé, created as a tribute to the company's founder, Bodo Buschmann.
Produced in a strictly limited run of just 77 units and equipped exclusively with Pirelli tyres, the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET features a dedicated 22-inch P Zero, also available for the Coupé variant. The tyre has been engineered to deliver the grip required at the vehicle's extreme speeds while ensuring steering precision, stability and comfort, even in the most demanding driving conditions.
A bespoke P Zero for the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET
Pirelli engineers worked closely with BRABUS to tailor the tyre to the supercar's technical characteristics. Development took into account the chassis set-up and wheel dimensions in relation to the engine's performance.
Optimisation focused on the tyre's structure and tread pattern, as well as its compound. This approach made it possible to achieve the right balance between high-speed performance and steering precision, while preserving the stability and comfort expected of a grand tourer.
Virtual development and testing at the Papenburg track
The P Zero developed for the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET was created using advanced virtualisation and simulation techniques. This phase enabled Pirelli engineers to optimise the tyre's characteristics virtually, assessing its behaviour against the vehicle's specific requirements.
The process then continued with an intensive joint testing programme at the Papenburg proving ground in Germany, where handling and high-speed performance were thoroughly evaluated. The tests allowed engineers to fine-tune the tyre's response to match the characteristics of the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET.
The P Zero's high-contrast sidewall and "BB" marking
Design also played an important role in the development process. The high-contrast sidewall, a distinctive feature of Pirelli's premium products, underlines the bold character of the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET while enhancing the appearance of its 22-inch wheel package.
The "BB" marking on the sidewall identifies the bespoke P Zero developed specifically for the model. The tyre is available in size 285/30 ZR22 XL for the front axle and 335/25 ZR22 XL for the rear axle.
