“Facing deforestation throughout a responsible management of supply chain: the case of natural rubber”. This is the panel's headline arranged by the Nest Climate Campus, led by Maureen Kline, Vice President Public Affairs and Sustainability at Pirelli North America, and Stephanie Cárdenas, Senior Manager Sustainability & ESG Services at Deloitte.

The Nest Climate Campus, considered to be the main US platform fighting against climate change and caring for environmental sustainability, scheduled a three-day event where both leaders and spokespeople representing enterprises, NGOs, institutions, academic world, and mass media were entitled to face environmental challenges.

Amongst them, Pirelli spoke about the sustainability of natural rubber supply chain, as well as how factories should manage the whole supply chain, aimed at safeguarding both rainforests and biodiversity.

Maureen Kline was the spokesperson of this important event, underlining how managing the natural rubber supply chain in a sustainable way would be the key to safeguard biodiversity and allow a long-lasting development of local communities and economies, as natural rubber global demand is about to increase.

Pirelli has always been involved in promoting, developing, and implementing a sustainable natural rubber supply chain along the whole value chain.  Its own commitment has so many shades: from strategic partnerships with suppliers to monitoring their own performances in order to improve them endlessly; from collaboration on multi stakeholders' platforms to activation on the field through several projects aimed to protect biodiversity and foster local communities' development; again, from collaboration with both customers and NGOs to natural rubber cultural promotion. Eventually, being involved into innovation processes, as well as collecting certifications to demonstrate the sustainability of natural rubber supply chain ever after.
