Tire Identification
The markings on the tire sidewall indicate the basic tire size and rim diameter. The example below shows how to read the markings found on rally tire sidewalls.
Marking
The tread patterns of different rally tire versions are identified by one or two letters followed by a number. The letters indicate the tread design, while the number that follows refers to the compound level. Lower numbers generally correspond to harder compounds. In some cases, a final letter is included to indicate a later development version.
Example RA 7 C
RA – Tread design
7 – Compound level
C – Development version
Rims
The rim sizes specified in this manual should be followed. If you have any questions, please contact Pirelli staff for guidance.
Fitment
Tires should be installed by trained professionals using appropriate, specialized equipment and following recommended safety procedures. Before mounting the tire on the rim, clean the bead surfaces and the areas of the rim that come into contact with the tire.

Use tire mounting lubricants specifically intended for this purpose, and avoid silicone- or petroleum-based products. Inspect the valves and use valve caps to help reduce the risk of air loss. Check valve seals for proper tightness and inspect them for signs of wear, such as tears or cracks, replacing them as needed.

Follow the markings on the tire sidewall that indicate rolling direction and the correct positioning of the inner and outer sidewalls, where applicable. Use a safety cage during tire inflation. Before dismounting a tire, confirm that it has been fully deflated by removing the valve core.
