Competition tires for dry conditions

Our products are developed to align with specific performance targets defined by vehicle manufacturers and the type of competition in which Pirelli participates. In 2025, a new generation of FSC®-certified slick tires was introduced for GT car applications.

Key characteristics include:

An external profile and internal structure designed to support a larger and more consistent contact area across different driving phases.
Belt geometries and materials developed to support lateral force transmission during cornering.
Tread specifications with multiple compound options to suit a range of track surfaces and temperature conditions.

Dimensions

The sidewall of our racing tires displays the key dimensional information.

Pressure

For safe operation, tires should be inflated above the recommended minimum inflation pressure threshold. For guidance on product characteristics and identifying appropriate operating conditions, please contact your local Pirelli dealer or a technical representative. To help reduce the likelihood of unexpected pressure variations during use, inflation with dry air or nitrogen is recommended.

Tread Type

The dry tire range is identified by the letter D, followed by the selected compound:
HH – SUPER-HARD / H – HARD / M – MEDIUM / S - SOFT / SS - SUPER-SOFT

Temperature

Tread temperature readings can provide useful insight into whether a compound is operating within its intended range and can help inform setup adjustments such as suspension geometry and stiffness. When measuring tire surface temperatures, the difference between the inner and outer sections is generally recommended to remain within 20°C (36°F). The temperature difference between the front and rear tires is typically recommended to stay within 25°C (45°F).
