The new concept car from the Istituto Europeo di Design designed in partnership with Suzuki and presented at the OGR Tech in Turin is called the Misano. The result of the university dissertation project by twenty-four students from the Master's Degree course in Transportation Design, the Misano is the answer to the theme “Way of Life X La Dolce Vita” assigned this year by Suzuki. A style model capable of bringing together the values and the philosophy of the brand with the suggestions evoked by Fellini's film masterpiece, which has become the expression of a life in pursuit of pleasure and elegance. A combination of the authenticity of tradition with technological innovation.

MISANO, A MERGER OF SPORT AND ELEGANCE

Two worlds at polar opposites are joined together in a single model: on the one hand two-wheeled vehicles that are synonymous with sporting spirit, high performance and thrills, named after the famous race circuit on the Adriatic coast of Italy; on the other, four-wheeled vehicles combining functionality, efficiency and practicality. Thus, the Misano is the perfect blend of Suzuki's two different souls. The objective is to bring a young and passionate motorcycle audience closer to the world of cars made by the Japanese make, while concurrently offering a unique driving experience that translates into sportsmanship and elegance.

The concept of sportsmanship is evident in the name itself: Misano pays homage to the Japanese brand's commitment to the most prestigious motorcycling competitions and the victories won on the namesake track. A theme that is embraced both in the feisty design of the front, with the jaunty lines of the lights and in the aerodynamics of the rear, as well as in the driving experience: the driver controls the car with a horizontal handlebar-like joystick.

AN ELECTRIC OR HYBRID BARCHETTA RACING CAR FITTED WITH P ZERO TYRES

In fact, the Suzuki Misano is designed to accommodate a hybrid or full–electric drive train and is fitted with Pirelli P-Zero tyres in the sizes 245/30 ZR 20 (90Y) XL with specific Elect marking for electric and hybrid vehicles. With a small windscreen reminiscent of a dome, a compact size, two tandem seats for passenger and driver, the Misano gives an experimental twist to the classic barchetta, thanks to an innovative and asymmetrical layout and fully respectable dimensions (length of 4m, width of 1.750m, height of 1m, a wheelbase of 2.6m and a centre distance of 1.5m). Pureness and elegance distinguish the exterior of the vehicle: clean-cut, smooth and understated silhouettes that gently envelop the interior and intertwined with the light clusters characterised by LED lights. All the features of a genuine supercar.
