The Pirelli P Zero Winter 2 secured first place in the 2025 comparative test by Teknikens Värld – a long-established and highly authoritative Swedish magazine that is a reference point for severe and impartial annual tyre testing. It won the benchmark category dedicated to non-studded winter products designed for Central European roads (“Mitteleurope”), in the 235/45 R18 size, one of the most common.
The Teknikens Värld comparative test
The 2025 test examined 20 tyres, including studded, non-studded Nordic, and non-studded Mitteleuropean models, evaluating them across all major winter usage scenarios: from ice and snow to wet and dry asphalt. They were also measured for comfort, stability, aquaplaning resistance, and fuel consumption. Snow and ice tests took place in Vistheden, west of Älvsbyn, on closed and controlled tracks, while wet tests were conducted in Gislaved, Småland, on circuits constantly irrigated to guarantee repeatable and realistic conditions.
The comparison highlights the excellent behaviour of the P Zero Winter 2, particularly on snow, wet, and dry surfaces. In snowy conditions, traction remains effective, offering safety on winter roads. On wet and dry surfaces, the P Zero Winter 2 distinguishes itself with excellent performance, ranking among the best in the test due to its results in grip and handling. It is also at the top of its category for aquaplaning resistance, while the moose test (emergency manoeuvre test) confirms that the tyre allows for remarkable manoeuvrability even during sudden movements, comparable to that of a specialised summer product, enabling safe and predictable driving. Finally, fuel consumption remains average, balancing performance and longevity.
