Super Aston Martin

Take a DB11, make it lighter, more powerful and with even better grip. The result is the DBS Superleggera, the new crowning jewel of the Aston Martin range and a fine tribute to Italian cars

It is English, of course, but also a little Italian. And not only because it's fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres, but also for its name: Superleggera (meaning super light). The name is a reference both to the Carrozzeria Touring company and the decision to focus on building the lightest possible car, using the DB11 as its base. And so, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is born, with a reduction of about 80kg in weight, an increase in horsepower to 725 Hp and perfectly honed aerodynamics, capable of 180kg of downforce on the rear wheels and a maximum speed of 340 km/h.Both the classic Aston Martin style and the name which has characterised several of the company's coupés from the 1950s to the present day are evidence of the car's noble English origins. The DBS acronym stands for "David Brown Sports", a tribute to Sir David Brown, the owner of Aston Martin from 1947 to 1972. The DBS name is actually far from new, appearing for the first time in the Aston Martin catalogue in 1967 and also featuring as James Bond's car in the film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", when the most famous spy of all time was portrayed by George Lazenby.

Today, then, the DBS car has truly earned the name Superleggera, while the car is also super fast: its dual turbo V12 engine with 725 horsepower and 900 Nm guarantees fast travel in what is the ultimate GT, while occupants can also enjoy the English elegance of the cabin, created from prestigious materials and featuring an immaculate, classic style. Pirelli P Zero tyres (265/35 front tyres and 305/30 rear) ensure perfect road grip, developed especially for the Superleggera and fitted to 21" rims, in addition to the electronic-guided suspension with a forged double-wishbone design at the front and a multi-link system at the rear.

The DBS Superleggera is the new pinnacle of a superb range of cars. As well as the DB11 it originates from, the Superleggera lines up alongside the New Vantage, the Rapide S, the Vanquish S, the Vanquish Zagato and the Valkyrie.
