The Audi RS 3 is the new star of the Nürburgring in the compact category and has conquered Mugello, too. Not by setting a new record this time but by getting the Italian press excited on one of the world's most famous racing tracks. Of course, the car fitted Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres, optional equipment for the Audi RS 3 and engineered for drivers seeking maximum performance on the track. The car was equipped with the same model of tyres when it set the best time in its class over 20 kilometres on the Nürburgring, improving the previous record by 4”64.

TAILOR-MADE TYRES

The P Zero Trofeo R tyres for the new Audi RS 3 implement state-of-the-art technologies, in particular in the compound, the tyre structure and the tread design to balance the performance of the car on the track and the road. For example, the tread pattern is designed to favour stability on straights, offering short braking distances and on corners, increasing lateral grip. The tyres are made at the Izmit plant in Turkey, where other models for the various competitions that Pirelli supplies are manufactured using the same technology and machinery as the motorsport tyres.

Alternatively to the P Zero Trofeo R, the Pirelli P Zero road tyres, characterised by high performance, sportiness and control, blend performance and comfort and are available for everyday use by drivers less focused on track driving. In addition to matching the sporty temperament of the Audi RS 3, the P Zero tyres are also sustainable. The structure and materials of these tyres were designed to optimise rolling resistance, certified by the “A” value of the European label, with reduced fuel consumption and improved environmental benefits as a consequence.
