Pirelli and Prada together for a new challenge to the America's Cup

Luna Rossa is preparing to develop the project that will lead her to her fifth participation in the America's Cup and she is doing so with Pirelli, co-title sponsor of the boat together with Prada.

The America's Cup is the most famous sailing trophy, as well as the oldest in the history of sport, involving the most technologically advanced boats in the world.

It represents a sporting and technological challenge, able to bring Italy and our country's brands all over the world. At the same time it embodies values linked to the team, to talent, as well as a strong link with history and tradition.

In this 36th edition of the Trophy, Luna Rossa is "Challenger of Record", the first challenger of the Emirates Team New Zealand, winner of the last race.

Men and technology, inspiration and innovation, control and performance are the keywords that unite the world of racing with the values of the Pirelli brand.

The one with Luna Rossa is the most recent of the major sports sponsorships for Pirelli: from Formula 1, to the Superbike, from cycling, to skiing, to hockey, to football and baseball.

Pirelli has been supporting the most prestigious sporting competitions for over 110 years, to tell a story that goes well beyond tyres.

Without forgetting that last year the Pirelli brand has already been the protagonist of the 35th America's Cup with the sponsorship of the winning Emirates Team New Zealand, today in the role of defender of the Cup.

The Luna Rossa project will entail, over the 4-year period 2018-2021, a series of regattas, events and activities with the two brands as protagonists. In 2019 the first two regattas of the America's Cup World Series will take place in the Mediterranean; in 2020 another three World Series regattas will be held in Europe, the United States of America and Asia; from January 2021, always in Auckland, there will be the Prada Cup, Challenger selection regattas, followed by the 36th edition of the America's Cup Presented by Prada, scheduled for March 2021.

Fair winds Luna Rossa!
