Pirelli's sustainability strategy focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, its research into and development of innovative materials, and attention to the entire supply chain. These - as well as its activities related to reporting, disclosure, and transparency - are the elements that have enabled Pirelli to secure a place in the 2023 Climate A List compiled by CDP, the international non-profit organization that collects, discloses, and promotes information related to key environmental issues affecting businesses and governments.

CDP's recognition reaffirms Pirelli's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, as evidenced by its performance exceeding decarbonization targets outlined in the industrial plan. In this regard, the company is also defining new Science Based Targets for the short and long term, in line with its Net Zero Commitment.

Marco Tronchetti Provera, Executive Vice President of Pirelli, commented on the company's reconfirmation of virtuosity: "Receiving the highest recognition from CDP for combating climate change confirms the tangible results supporting Pirelli's and the entire value chain's sustainable transition, also thanks to new technologies and a constant commitment to innovation."

According to CDP's analysis, A List companies, that number only 346 out of more than 21,000 participants, have the most accurate picture of their environmental impacts and are better equipped to take positive action for climate and nature mitigation. Disclosure and transparency are also important tools contributing to achieving zero-emission goals, avoiding greenwashing, and monitoring progress towards the objectives of the Paris Agreement.

CDP, whose goal is to guide companies and governments in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions, safeguarding water resources, and protecting forests, collects data on environmental impacts, risks, and opportunities for an independent assessment based on the scoring methodology. In 2023, at the request of over 740 investors with over $136 trillion in assets, such data were communicated through CDP's platform by the involved companies.
