Having secured the prestigious ADI International Compasso d'Oro 2025 - the first tyre to receive this acknowledgement in the award's 75-year history - the Pirelli P Zero E officially enters the ADI Design Index 2025. This is the annual review by the Permanent Design Observatory, which curates a selection of products and projects from the contemporary Italian panorama. The Pirelli tyre was among the key highlights of the exhibition at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, a showcase that will continue in Agrigento, Italian Capital of Culture 2025, from 12th to 28th November. Following this, the P Zero E will join the Museum's permanent collection in the Lombardy capital, alongside the other winners of the Compasso d'Oro.
P Zero E and the International Compasso d'Oro
Launched by Pirelli in 2023, the P Zero E is the world's first Ultra-High Performance tyre with more than 55% bio-based and recycled materials. It was designed to optimise the efficiency of electric and plug-in hybrid cars, successfully marrying sustainability with high performance. Its credentials are confirmed by its triple ‘A Class' rating on the European label for wet grip, rolling resistance, and acoustic comfort. It was precisely due to its innovative and technological character that the P Zero E was presented with the prestigious International Compasso d'Oro. This took place during the special edition organised at the Osaka Expo 2025, which was themed Designing Future Society for our Lives. The Pirelli product was honoured in the Mobility Design category, within one of the exhibition's core themes: Connecting Lives, which refers to the ability to connect people with technologically advanced products that have a reduced environmental impact. The Compasso d'Oro thus recognises the industrial and social value of the P Zero E and of Pirelli's ‘eco-safety design' approach, which successfully integrates safety and performance with sustainability.
