Time is precious; every second counts and can make a difference, especially when you're aiming for victory. Inspired by a pit stop and made with rubber from Pirelli tyres which were the first across the finish line, the new Excalibur Spider Pirelli affords the thrills of car races. It is the first completely versatile timepiece by Iper Orologeria designed by Roger Dubuis and produced once again with the collaboration of Pirelli Design, sharing the aim of producing adrenalin-packed masterpieces.

Customisation and interchangeability in one click

A mixture of state-of-the-art aesthetic styling and hand-made craftsmanship: this is how the Excalibur Spider Pirelli is introduced. Among its distinguishing features, customisation and interchangeability, from the strap, to the crown and the bezel, simply with one click and thanks to the innovative quick fasten and release technology.

Its calibre, dominated by the star Roger Dubuis, is the brand's first automatic skeleton mechanism. Moreover, the watch has a micromotor, reduced to the bare essentials and positioned at 11 o'clock, which moves as one with your wrist.

Last but not least, innovative materials such as DLC Titanium, which is lighter and more valuable than stainless steel, allow the RD820SQ calibre to achieve the perfect weight balance for charging.

The Excalibur Spider Pirelli is therefore a masterpiece of mechanical engineering and an example of Roger Dubuis's watchmaking audacity; it took hundreds of hours to create this 45 mm watch, about a third of the time dedicated exclusively to the prestigious Poinçon de Genève, which requires an impeccable hand finish for every single component.

A Cinturato tyre as a strap

How long does it take to change tyres in Formula 1? Just a few seconds, the same time it takes to replace the strap of the Pirelli Excalibur Spider. One click is enough, a quick and easy gesture to transform your vision of things and les jeux sont faits. Three additional kits in red, white or blue, and the watch changes from monochrome black to an explosion of colours. This is possible thanks to the quick release of the strap and crown.

Available in a limited edition of 88 kits for each colour with rubber inlay straps, the models are made with race-winning tyres to adorn the wrist of the most rebellious spirits. The reference to the racing world is also present in the design of the inner part of the strap, which features the Pirelli Cinturato Intermediate pattern and the additional kits, which are thicker than the basic bezel, recreate the typical sensation and appearance of Pirelli tyres.
