Cristiano Biraghi, from the pitch to the stadium
The first kicks were in Brianza, then he went straight to the junior teams of Atalanta and Inter Milan. The love for football had always been in the DNA of full-back and defender of Inter Milan Cristiano Biraghi. On the pitch and also as a fan at the stadium.
How did your fondness for football come about?
It's some kind of genetic fingerprint that my dad passed to me. We watched many matches together with Inter Milan always in our hearts. Everyone in the family supported Inter Milan.
When did you start playing football?
When I was a kid in Brianza, I played in Carugate. Then I moved on to Atalanta and immediately afterwards to the Inter Milan junior teams. For me, it was a dream come true.
Who was your favourite player?
My idol has always been Ronaldo “El Fenomeno”. I think he was the strongest player in the world and what is more he was playing on my team. It was the best for a fan.
Did you ever ask the players for autographs?
After training, at the Pinetina, I would stand outside the locker room and wait for the champions to arrive. I have Cauet's, Djorkaeff's and Zanetti's.
Did you ever follow your favourite team away?
Yes, I loved it. There was a strong sense of belonging. I still remember a wonderful trip to Florence which ended with a win for us.
What is the most memorable game?
I was 18 years old and Mourinho's Inter Milan was playing the Champions League final against Bayern Munich in Madrid. I will never forget the thrill of Milito's two goals and the exultation at the end of the game. Winning the Champions League is the greatest satisfaction for a fan.
