Pirelli and Inter

ImageTrue to the finest and loftiest Milanese tradition, the histories of Inter and Pirelli came together on 14 June 1995 with the official announcement of a partnership that is not, and will never be, merely promotional.

That day, the Nerazzurra club and the industry set up in 1872 once again started out together from the centre of their home town to export an image of success and constructive creativity around the world. And, almost 100 years since Inter was founded, the story continues.

Perfectly in tune with the modern world of sport, and indeed often a precursor of its evolution (it was the first Italian club to have an Internet site), the facts have shown that Inter is a model of loyalty, correctness and commitment even outside the world of competitive sport.

The creation and development of the Inter Campuses, originally set up in Italy and now exported elsewhere to help children in difficulty by giving them a scholastic and sports education, is one of the feathers in the cap of Massimo Moratti's management. He has been the owner of the club since February 1995 as well as its president, except for a brief period when the post was taken up with honour by Giacinto Facchetti, one of the key players in Nerazzurra history - first as a champion on the pitch, and then as one of the most acclaimed and famous managers in the world.

History and victories

F.C. InternationalThe Football Club Internazionale Milano was founded by a group of friends on 19 March 1908, during an evening meeting at the Orologio restaurant. The friends were dissident members of the other city club and wanted to create a team that would also be open to foreigners.

In 1910 Inter rose to stardom with its first league title, going on to win the Italian national championship 16 times, picking up 2 Intercontinental Cups, 2 Champions' Cups, 3 UEFA Cups, and 5 Coppa Italia and 3 Supercoppa Italiana trophies.

The greatest legend in its hundred-year history was Grande Inter in the 1960s - the formidable team that, under the presidency of Angelo Moratti and the technical leadership of Helenio Herrera, was the mightiest of them all: a model for all Italian and worldwide football.

After a century, the conquest of the 2007-2008 Scudetto is the start of a new chapter in which new, memorable pages will be written together with a multitude of proud and ever watchful fans, who love the story of the club and firmly believe in its future.
