PIRELLI: ITALIAN LEADER IN CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

The results Pirelli obtained are confirmation of the attention the Pirelli Group reserves to its corporate governance, consistently adopting national and international best practices as its own.

Positive week for cyclical shares and for the European Auto and Parts segment with the Quarterly Results incoming meetings.

Pirelli makes +8% overperforming the index by 2 pecentage points.

Mediobanca upgraded Pirelli in view of the 2Q’09 results: the broker reviewed the target price to 0.27 € from 0.25 € confirming the “Hold” statement. Mediobanca’s quarterly results should show an improvement in the tyre business.

Negative week for the Italian Real Estate business. Focus was placed on Risanamento (-27% share value this week). Pirelli Re overperforms the business by closing the week at 0.556 € with a – 1.9%.

DOUBLE TRIUMPH FOR PIRELLI AT THE CHINA TYRE ENTERPRISE SUMMIT 2009

The most prestigious prize at  the 2009 edition of the China tyre Enterprise Summit went to the Cinturato P7, voted “The Best New Tyre of the Year”. And the high performing P Zero tyre won the title of “The Best Ultra-High Performance Tyre”, thanks to its excellent performance compared to that of its competitors.  The centre of the debate of the summit, focussed on ecosustainability, energy saving and environmental protection,  was the search for new eco-compatible materials, and the introduction of new and increasingly green tyre and technologies.

Winning two such important prices demonstrates how the world of industry appreciates the policies of safety and respect for the environment that Pirelli has pursued in recent years, and which it continues to believe in, always combining respect for the environment and high performance.
