During the tests several solutions have been tried, some of these will be available in the next rounds, the others will be tested again during the last tests of the season scheduled for July at Portimão

From the time spent today in Imola at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Pirelli has gathered important information from the riders who have tried the solutions provided by the Italian tyre manufacturer. Jonathan Rea (Pata Honda World Superbike Team), after winning both races and the Pirelli Best Lap Awards yesterday, was confirmed as the fastest rider also today.

For these tests, which involved all the teams of the premier class, Pirelli has provided the front and rear reference solutions, namely the standard ones already present in the rounds run up to this point, and some development solutions to be compared with those already used during 2014. Specifically there were two front options to be tested, at the rear both the EVO and Superbike riders had available 2 new solutions to test, for each class.

“It has been all in all a good day” said Pirelli Moto Racing Director Giorgio Barbier “although unfortunately we did not get to see everything that we wanted. Not being exclusively devoted to the tyres test, very rightly teams and riders had the opportunity to test other parameters such as electronics, suspension and other technical improvements. All riders had at their disposal the reference solutions for the front and the rear and the new development solutions to compare with those they are already familiar with. In some cases, since the settings of the machines were changed, it was impossible to ascertain with precision the real difference between current solutions and new solutions, but in some cases we were able to make several laps and gather important information. That said the next step is surely to bring some of the most popular solutions to the next round of the championship and take advantage of the last seasonal test to be held in July at Portimão, in order to test further in-depth some solutions”.
