Burton Upon Trent, September 13, 2012 – Winners of a silent auction enjoyed a trip to the Formula One in Monza last weekend where the prize winners received paddock passes and hospitality courtesy of Italian tyre firm Pirelli.

The auction was held in July as part of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity’s annual Formula One party, held this year at Evolution in Battersea.  Pirelli donated two paddock passes to the individual who placed the highest bid on the night.

London’s JM Littman was the highest bidder and was full of praise for Pirelli following his weekend in Italy.

“We had the most amazing weekend and I cannot thank Pirelli enough for organising everything,” said prize winner, Littman. “From the hotel, the driver, paddock team and Pirelli staff, we could not have been treated any better. We even got invited into the Caterham F1 garage as I used to race for Caterham Cars. It was even more special for my girlfriend as it was her birthday over the weekend, and she’s now been successfully converted to Formula One.”

Pirelli UK PR manager Sarah Brown commented: “I’m delighted to hear that our prize winners had such a terrific time at Monza. We strive to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity as much as possible throughout the year and we are pleased to be able to raise money for such a worthy cause whilst also providing two individuals with a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
