Gala event, Dream Racing and Pirelli planes

Pirelli launched the new P Zero locally to North American dealers and press in Las Vegas before SEMA 2016, the world’s largest automotive specialty equipment show. As Pirelli’s halo product, P Zero has achieved a rich heritage and over 1,000 homologations since its introduction 30 years ago.

The new P Zero is available in three variants tailor-made for specific cars, applications and performance levels:

-       P Zero for luxury sedans;

-       P Zero for sports cars;

-       P Zero Corsa – a motorsport slick like tire with an aggressive tread design.

Embodying Pirelli’s “perfect fit” technology, new features include F1 bead technology derived from racing to enhance vehicle control; an extended range profile to provide more even wear and performance; tread pattern modifications allowing a 10% increase in water expulsion capacity and noise reduction; and a 15% reduction in rolling resistance. The new P Zero strategy will increasingly focus on marked tires in the premium and prestige segments.

Pirelli held a gala event at the Keep Memory Alive Center designed by avant-garde architect Frank Gehry. With 188 irregular windows, the architecture was the perfect mirror for Pirelli producing custom tires for top car manufacturers, where no two P Zeros are the same.

Media and dealers experienced first-hand the P Zero product range benefits at Dream Racing, a five-star Pirelli-sponsored driving experience at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Different track set-ups showcased the incredible grip, handling, and performance of the new product on an enviable line-up of OEM manufacturer cars, including the Ferrari 488, Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, Lamborghini Super Veloce, Mercedes AMG GT and Pagani Huayra. Guests also drove on the North American specific P Zero All Season Plus tire. The event included an aerial demonstration on two Pirelli sponsored Italian Marchetti S-211 planes, illustrating velocity, aerodynamism, style and control– all inherent in the P Zero brand.
