Sustainability Report

The Sustainability Report represents a moment of fundamental importance for the whole Pirelli community. It aims to fully express a corporate culture founded on integration of economic choices and those of an environmental and social nature, according to the Triple Bottom Line approach. For this reason, the description of sustainability performance is inserted in the Balance Sheet and Report, rather than keeping it separate.

As stated by the Chairman of Pirelli in the letter to shareholders, "The decision to include a section on sustainability within the financial statements is an indication of the high priority of this topic and, at the same time, should encourage us to operate in a way that will satisfy all the stakeholders, based on healthy, lasting growth."

Analysis of sustainable performance and related reporting are based on a multi-stakeholder approach and on a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) developed on the basis of GRI (Global Reporting Initiative, updated G3) indicators, on the basis of the Global Compact principles and on what is periodically monitored by the main rating agencies (SAM for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, EIRIS for theFTSE4Good, SiRi through the related questionnaires completed by the company for the purpose of admission to stock market sustainability indexes.
