10/12/2007 - Milan: Pirelli agreement with Milan's Niguarda Hospital for cooperation project with the Hospital in Slatina

Pirelli signed an agreement with the Niguarda Cà Granda Hospital of Milan and the Hospital of Slatina (Romania) for professional continuing education of Romanian medical and nursing personnel at the Milan hospital. In the context of this initiative, in addition, Pirelli will donate modern hospital equipment to the Slatina hospital for diagnostics and emergency surgery. The professional training program will begin in January 2008 and will involve over the next three years approximately 70 doctors and nurses from the Romanian hospital.
30/11/2007 - Pirelli Tyre signs "the Bali Communiqué" on climate change challenges

In occasion of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, held in Bali in December 2007, 150 global companies including Pirelli Tyre have signed The Bali communiqué: The document underlines the need to  tackle climate change through negotiations aimed at reaching an ambitious and comprehensive world level agreement, based on concrete strategies to be developed through a joint engagement from governments
27/11/07 - Yanzhou (China): Pirelli today began manufacturing high-performance car tyres in China

Pirelli today began manufacturing high-performance car tyres in China in the Group's second factory in the Shandong Province. Much attention has been dedicated to corporate social responsibility, with a campaign to sensitize employees on CSR themes, and to intercultural integration initiatives and work-life balance initiatives such as recreational events and trips. Pirelli has also launched a free vaccination campaign for all workers.
15/10/07- Politecnico di Torino and Pirelli: Research Agreement Signed for Tyre Sector

Pirelli will also contribute to funding a chair in mechanical engineering. Innovations arising from the collaboration to be developed in the new Pirelli industrial and technological pole in Settimo Torinese
18/09/07 – Pirelli confirmed in the FTSE4Good Sustainability Indexes

Pirelli confirmed in the FTSE4Good Sustainability Indexes, in particular both in the FTSE4Good Global Index and in the FTSE4Good Europe
06/09/07 – Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes

Pirelli confirmed as 2007/2008 Member in both the Dow Jones World and the Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Indexes, reaching the leading position within the "Autoparts and Tyres" Sector.
19/07/07 – Pirelli presented in Slatina (Olt province) its development plans and the activities of the new industrial and technology pole of the Group in Romania.

Among Social Activities, Two New Projects: Collaboration with Fc Internazionale for realization of an Inter Campus and partnership between the Slatina Hospital and the Niguarda Hospital in Milan for professional training of medical personnel, nurses and technicians. The project includes a training contribution for personnel at the Slatina Hospital, including through professional exchanges and training periods both in Milan and in Slatina.
17/07/07 – Pirelli Group CSR and Equal opportunity local managers meet together in Milan for a training day on their new role features, connected responsibilities and goals to be achieved.

05/07/2007 – Pirelli Tyre adhers to ENI 30PERCENT Campaign

Launched by ENI, the Campaign has the goal to increase saving culture among consumers, through the means of very simple daily behaviors: 24 suggestions in order to decrease energy cost borne by consumer families of up to 30%, this way saving up to € 1.600 per year.
03/07/2007 – Jv signed between Global Cleantech Capital and Pirelli Ambiente in photovoltaic sector
Pirelli Ambiente , a company within the Pirelli & C. Group active in the field of renewable energy, and Global Cleantech Capital (GCC) , a clean energy private equity fund, signed today an agreement to establish Solar Utility SpA, a joint venture in the photovoltaic energy sector.
Solar Utility Spa will be held in equal parts by Pirelli Ambiente and GCC. The new JV Company plans to invest about 24 €M in equity, over the next 5 years , in roof based solar energy systems for the production, in Italy , of about 50MW of clean electricity .

20/06/2007 – My Time for Indonesia: official inauguration Ceremony for the two new schools

The inauguration of the two schools built with the contribution of Pirelli and its employees has taken place in the Banda Aceh Province , in Indonesia , one of the areas that have been mostly affected by the 2004 tsunami tremendous consequences.
Ceremony has taken place in the large square of the Technical Institute of Banda Aceh, capital town of the Region.
The inauguration was joined by the Vice-Mayor of Aceh, Ms Illiza Djamal, the Authorities within the Province and the town, the School Director, Mr Samsuddin, the building process Director, all the teachers, the spokesmen of the 700 students currently attending the schools, and Mr Luigi Gastel in representation of Pirelli's Management.
13/06/2007 – Group Equal Opportunities Project awarded at the 5th edition of the Sodalitas Social Award
The Sodalitas Social Award is an official recognition at Italian national Level, addressed to those Companies having distinguished themselves for special commitment and actions in the Corporate Social Responsibility field.
The Pirelli Group "Equal Opportunity Project" received the "Honorable Mention" Award within the category "Human Capital Valorization" "……for having achieved, at Group level, the aim to acknowledge and promote the importance of individual differences in all company processes and to guarantee genuine equality of treatment of all company employees in every sector, role and level of seniority and in all positions of responsibility, with positive impact on employment…". The Project has been also included in the "Libro d'oro della Responsabilità Sociale" (i.e. "Gold book of Corporate Social Responsibility", edited by Sodalitas.
The Award makes Pirelli proud, also considering that candidates were really many: 271 Projects presented by 225 Companies, 25 of which in the category chosen by Pirelli.
12/06/2007 – Pirelli launches the internal communication campaign "CSR Company", targeted at all group employees in their respective language
The Campaign, launched with a Chairman's written message to all Group employees, has the goal to share with employees the sustainable culture of Pirelli's way of managing the Company. Furthermore, all employees have the opportunity to dialogue with the Company by giving anonymous suggestions (by filling out an ad hoc feedback card and putting it in a Totem) on actions they consider to be opportune in order to further enhance the sustainable way of managing the company, both from an internal and from an external point of view.
29/05/2007 – Pirelli Re launches Ecobuilding , the Eco-Sustainable Program for Environmentally Friendly Real Estate development

The Project focuses on four core standards: efficient energy, eco-compatible material, renewable resources and comfortable living program involves a series of solutions that include: a more extensive use of energy from renewable sources (specifically, solar and geothermal energy), innovative, efficient heating/cooling systems for optimal use of the energy obtained from renewable sources and highly energy efficient devices, improved insulation of the buildings, the use of external fixtures and glass facades that guarantee maximum efficiency, including summer solar panels, individual climate control units, use of rainwater and other natural, eco-compatible products, as well as green roofs.
11/05/07 – A Norwegian Company wins the Eleventh Edition of the Pirelli InternetIonal Award for the "Interactive Mobile Whiteboard"
The winners of the various categories of the international competition dedicated to the communication of science and technology on the Internet have been selected from approximately a thousand candidates
Pirelli, as part of the eleventh edition of the Pirelli Internetional Award ( www.pirelliaward.com ) the first international competition dedicated to science and technology communication managed entirely on the Internet, has awarded the Norwegian start-up "New Index" ( www.newindex.no ), for its video illustrating their latest invention: the "interactive mobile whiteboard"; a special pen that can write, draw, colour and erase on a whiteboard, equipped with a sensor linked to a videoprojector and a personal computer. The winners received the Top Pirelli Prize
