Enrico Tommaso Cucchiani

Director of Pirelli & C. S.p.A. since December 12, 2007.

Born in Milan in 1950.

Graduated in Economics and Business Administration at Bocconi University in Milan, he specialized in the United States doing research, at Harvard University, on multinational corporations, obtaining a Master in Business Administration at Stanford University.

Since 1977 his career has been focusing mainly on the financial, banking, insurance and venture capital fields.

Later on, he joined McKinsey where he contributed to the development of the banking practice, assisting in Italy primary banking institutions; then he moved to the New York office where he became advisor for Merrill Lynch and Chase Manhattan Bank; after the experience at McKinsey, he pursued an entrepreneurial activity in the sector of venture capital and M&A.

In 1996 he became General Manager of Lloyd Adriatico. In 1998 he was appointed Managing Director and CEO. In 2001 he was appointed Chairman. Since 2005 he has been member of the International Executive Committee of Allianz and since January 1, 2006 he has been member of the "Vorstand" (Board of Management) of Allianz SE, acting as responsible for all Group companies operating in Italy, Spain, Portugal, , Greece, Turkey and South America as well as for the program of strategic development and the worldwide reorganization of the "property casuality business" and the distribution system of the Group
He is Chairman of Allianz S.p.A..

Furthermore he is member of the Board of Directors of Unicredit Group, IllyCaffé S.p.A., Editoriale FVG S.p.A. (Gruppo Editoriale l'Espresso).
Chairman at MIB School of Management (Trieste), Member of the Advisory Council of Stanford University (USA), life member of the Javotte Bocconi Institute, Member of the Boards of Trilateral Commission, Aspen Institute Italia, Board for the relationship between Italy and the United States, ISPI, Intercultura and Civita. He is Chairman of the Foro di Dialogo Italo Tedesco, Italian section of ISPI. Furthermore, he is member of the Executive Committee of ANIA and of the Directive Board of Federazione ABI-ANIA. Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACIF Allianz Compagnia Italiana Finanziamenti S.p.A., of ACIF 2 S.p.A. and AGF Ras Holding B.V.(The Netherlands); he is also Deputy Chairman of Companhia de Seguros Allianz Portugal S.A. and Allianz Compania de Seguros S.A., Allianz General Insurance Company S.A., Allianz Life Insurance Company S.A. (Greece), Allianz Hayat Sigorta S.A. and Allianz Hayat ve Emklilik AS (Turkey).

He is also member of the Board of Directors of Lloyd Adriatico Holding S.p.A.

He was recipient of the "Bocconiano dell'Anno 2006" award.
