Born in Trezzo d'Adda (Milano) in 1927.

After graduation, he becomes assistant professor of General Accounting at Bocconi
University in Milan.

From 1954 to 1959 he is professor at the University of Genova.
In 1960 he is appointed extraordinary professor of Industrial and Commercial Technics at the University of Parma and, from 1963, ordinary professor.

In 1969 he becomes ordinary professor Bocconi University; from 1974 to 1999 he is Member
of the Board of Directors and, from 1999 Deputy Chiarman. From 1984 to 1989 he has been
Dean of Bocconi University.

In 2003 he has been appointed professor Emerito by Ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca Scientifica.

He is Chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Italmobiliare S.p.A., BPU - Banche Popolari Unite S.c.p.a., Centrobanca S.p.A., Permasteelisa S.p.A., Movi Lemar S.p.A., Movi
S.p.A. and Rhifim S.p.A..

He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Finanziaria 2000 S.p.A. e Vittoria Assicurazioni S.p.A., Director of Banco di Desio e della Brianza S.p.A., Maffei S.p.A., Granitifiandre S.p.A.
and Negri Bossi S.p.A..

He is also advisor to Italian companies and groups.
