Born in Roma in 1945.
Graduated in Jurisprudence from the University of Rome in academic year 1966/67. From 1974 to 1981 lectured: Banking Law, University of Cagliari, Bankruptcy Law, University of Sassari, Corporate Law, University of Cagliari, Insurance Law, University of Rome, Industrial law, University of Cagliari and Industrial and Corporate Law, University of Perugia. Held the chair of: Insurance Law, University of Rome "La Sapienza", Corporate, International and Community Law, University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and Industrial and Corporate law, University of Rome "La Sapienza". From November 1994 Director of the Institute of Private Law, University of Rome "La Sapienza" and head of the Faculty of Jurisprudence at the same University from 1995. Nominated in 1998 member of the study commission for the implementation of a bill for the reform of the Corporate Law ("Mirone Committee"), from 2001 member of the committee for the implementation of the organic reform of the Corporate Law ("Vietti Committee") and on 2003 member of the committee for the coordination and for the changes to Law Decrees number 5 and 6 regarding the organic reform of the Corporate Law. Legal advisor of the Ministry of Treasury in the period between 1999-2000. From 1999 to April 2002 member of the Board of Directors of ENEL S.P.A. and from 2001 to 2003 Secretary of the Board of Directors of Alitalia S.p.A.. From 2004 to 2005 he was member of the Board of Directors of Telecom Italia Mobile S.p.A. and from March 31, 2005, he is member of the Board of Directors of Stretto di Messina S.p.A.. He holds the requirements contempleted by the Code of Conduct issued by the Committee for the Corporate Governance of Listed Companies to be qualified as indipendent. |
