• Are internships possible at Pirelli?
  Pirelli is always looking for young, new university graduates to employ at the company through an internship with training programmes and on-the-job development. If you are interested, you can send your curriculum vitae through our online format at www.pirelli.com, Careers area.
  
• How long are internships? Are expense reimbursements offered?
  The length of the internship depends on the type of project. Internships last an average of six to nine months, and expense reimbursements are offered.
  
• How does Pirelli compare with its competitors in terms of compensation?
  The compensation offered by Pirelli is competitive with respective to the reference market. The overall system of compensation is line with market practice.
  
• What requirements are necessary for being contacted for an initial interview?
  The requirements that candidates must satisfy vary according to the type of job. In all cases, they must have a good command of English, ability to work as a team, flexibility, initiative and entrepreneurial spirit. In the case of new university graduates, it is preferable that they have a final "Laurea" degree thesis examination score above 90/100 or 100/110.
  
• Is it possible to work on my university thesis at the Pirelli Group?
  Yes. If your project and the company's interests correspond, you can work on your thesis at Pirelli. If you are interested, send your research project, curriculum vitae and a letter of recommendation by your thesis advisor to the following e-mail address: recruiting@pirelli.com.
  
• How much time can pass between the time I submit an application and an invitation for an interview?
  If your profile corresponds to current needs, you will be contacted within one month after your application is filed, and you will participate at an assessment centre (evaluation based on group dynamics and individual interviews).
  If there are no positions open corresponding to your profile, we will keep your curriculum vitae on file, and you will be contacted as soon as new positions open up.
  
• How are job applications handled?
  The first phase of the process consists of acquiring the curriculum vitae. It is reviewed by the company on the basis of the objective parameters indicated above (knowledge of foreign languages, final score for defence of "Laurea" degree thesis, past work experience…). If your curriculum vitae is considered adequate, you will be invited for an assessment centre/preliminary interview. If you pass this initial phase, you will be invited for another interview with the line manager.
  
• In which companies does Pirelli operate?
  Pirelli is a multinational corporation that operates in 21 countries, including: the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Romania, Turkey, Brazil, Egypt and China. Visit the websites for the various countries to obtain more information on the nation of interest to you.
  
• What will be my principal place of work?
  Assigned workplaces vary according to job. More information is provided during the interview. The Group's headquarters is located in Milan.
  
•  Can I choose my preferred workplace?
  This depends on availability. In any event, given our international presence, you might have the opportunity of spending several phases of your career in different countries around the world where Pirelli operates.
  
•  Can I transfer to other Group companies after being hired?
  Yes. The Pirelli Group believes in training in-house personnel and values experiences of this sort as a tool for personal growth. If opportunities open up at other Group companies, we are ready to consider them for our employees.
  
•  How are careers organised at Pirelli?
  After an initial period during which the new recruit and the Pirelli Group become acquainted with each other, the growth of each individual rapidly develops vertically or horizontally (amongst the different affiliates, business units and functions), and in a perspective of geographic mobility, according to the results achieved, type of work and assessed potential. There are also development paths specific for the different professional families.
  
•  What type of training is envisaged for a Pirelli employee?
  The training paths are organised in such a way as to develop the professional and managerial skills of each employee. There are also ad hoc paths reserved for new recruits and talents, or specific professional families, such as researchers or commercial staff.

  The services offered to employees vary according to the country and workplace. Scholarships and summer campuses are also available for the children of employees. In any event, the services available at the office and country where you work should be checked first.
  
•  What kind of after-hours activities are organised?
  Pirelli is a firm that locally organises after-hours recreational activities to promote integration and interpersonal acquaintance amongst employees. For example, at the Milan headquarters you can find initiatives such as the soccer championships that involve employees from all Group companies, or the Pirelli Sailing Cup, which fields mixed crews, or events like the vintage car rally. Open-houses are also planned for families at Pirelli, so that the friends and relatives can visit employee workplaces.
  
•  How do employees and the company communicate with each other?
  One of Pirelli's values is transparency. In fact, the company endeavours to keep a communication channel open at all times, actively using tools like the Intranet that cover all Group companies.
