On 27th of January took place the first Truck Safety Day. Being among the promoters of the European Road Safety Charter, Pirelli has committed to intensifying the programme of safety initiatives and this event is part of these.
The choosen location was Livigno’s Ghiacciodromo, where more than 80 participants from Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerlandss had the occasion to attend some comparison tests between winter truck tyres W:01 and “summer” truck tyres H88. During these tests winter tyres show higher levels of performance on snowy and icy roads.
Safety means not only the right choice of tyres but also an accurate and correct tyre maintenance. In this occasion Pirelli introduces Cyber™ Fleet, the intelligent tyre designed for road haulage that through an electronic sensor and computer system provides truck drivers and fleet managers with up-to-the-minute data regarding the tyre’s condition and the vehicle’s geographical position.
