In 2013 Pirelli will continuing it’s sponsorship of Bute Motorsport’s ever popular series, the GT Cup. For the first time since the series’ conception in 2007, professional drivers will be allowed to compete in the championship alongside the gentlemen drivers, this is expected to bring in a wave of new cars to the Championship. Competitors will take to the track some of Britain’s best known circuits including Silverstone, Donington Park and Brands Hatch.
With an array of cars competing in the GT Cup, Pirelli is able to underline the performance and efficiency of its P Zero tyres on a wide range of machinery that boasts differing levels of power, traction, cornering and handling. The challenge this presents was fundamental to Pirelli’s decision to renew its support of the GT Cup.
Some of the cars set to compete in this year’s championship include the McLaren MP4-12C, Ferrari 458 Italia, 430 and 360, Porsche 996 and 997, BMW E46, GTR V8 and CSL, Ginetta G50, Chevron GR8, KTM X-bow, Lotus Elise, Europa and Exige, TVR Cerbera, Sagaris and Tuscan and the Morgan Aero 8.
