Since the concept of PPC was made a reality, it has gone from strength to strength, although the key objectives have remained the same; providing a network of dealers with high technical levels and commitment to service, allowing Pirelli to direct drivers of High Performance cars with confidence.
Pirelli believes the Pirelli Performance Club has been the flag bearer for the tyre trade in raising standards, indeed the Pirelli concept of technical excellence has been so successful that several other manufacturers have followed suit with their own clubs targeted at raising standards.
The PPC concept arguably stands apart from other clubs by having the most demanding of technical audits, which PPCs have to pass twice a year. The audit is constantly evolving, with the current audit consisting of 130 separate items. This ensures the highest of standards are achieved, maintained and, crucially, increased in each Pirelli Performance Centre.
The depot with the best audit results for the year is awarded the prestigious title of Pirelli Performance Centre of the Year – an industry recognised achievement. BMTR was announced as Pirelli’s PPC of the Year after scoring a near-perfect score in the final audit of 2012. Founded in 1919, BMTR is one of the UK’s oldest independent tyre retailers and the family-owned independent business is also part of Group Tyre.
