Pirelli has had a busy month in North America, supporting premium OE manufacturers BMW, Porsche and Ferrari in their respective big annual meets for their car owners and enthusiasts.
Firstly, Pirelli helped celebrate the Ferrari Club of America’s 50th anniversary held in Leesburg, Virginia. Ferrari owners and enthusiasts congregated from all over North America to attend this special celebration, where the theme was “Celebrating the Redheads”– a tribute to the rich heritage of the Ferrari Testa Rossa and Testarossa cars. Members enjoyed a range of events, including a F1 Scrutineering Seminar, an Escape & Evade Drivers Course, and the headlining event, The Ferrari Concours de’ Elegance. Pirelli Tire North America provided support at the track event, where they had a tire distribution trailer onsite ready to sell, mount and balance tires for the attending members.
Pirelli also continued their long-standing support of the Porsche Club of America at the 2014 Porsche Parade National Event held on the Monterey peninsula, marking the 59th annual event for Porsche enthusiasts around the nation to celebrate their Porsches and the rich history of the brand.
The 2014 Porsche Parade, which ran through June 21, was the most successful yet, attracting the largest attendance ever with 2,000 participants and 250 cars at the Parade Concours d’Elegance, as well as a wide range of rare historic models. The Pirelli Welcome Dinner kicked off the festivities with a special launch of the new Boxster GTS by Hans-Peter Porsche, equipped with Pirelli P Zero tires. This marks the first appearance of the Pirelli-equipped Boxster GTS in the United States.
Finally, Pirelli announced a new partnership with The BMW Car Club of America for the 2014 Oktoberfest, an annual event for BMW owners and enthusiasts.
Pirelli was title sponsor for the Concours event held at the annual gathering, in addition to providing support for activities through-out the week. The 45th annual BMW Oktoberfest was held in Beavercreek, Colorado, from June 16-20.
