Andretti Speed Lab Hosts Prelim Event Before Season Finale at
Petit Le Mans

Roswell, Georgia, Oct. 13, 2003 – Race fans from Atlanta
will challenge the best of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) in a
charity go-karting event at Andretti Speed Lab in Roswell today
from 3 to 9 p.m. ALMS drivers will prep for Saturdays season
finale at Road Atlanta by setting the fastest lap times on the
Speed Labs indoor circuit. Fans will have the opportunity to
compete for tickets to Saturdays race by beating the racers
times. Drivers will be available to sign autographs and pose for
pictures with the fans. In addition, 790 The Zone will be
broadcasting live from Andretti Speed Lab with Mike Bells
motorsports show featuring live drivers interviews from 7 to
9 p.m.
With its North America headquarters based in nearby Rome, Pirelli
Tires is sponsoring the event for second straight year. The real
race gets underway this coming Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with the
sixth running of the Petit Le Mans endurance race, a 1,000-mile or
10-hour race, that will determine the overall Drivers and
Manufacturers championships. SPEED Channel will provide
seven hours of live coverage of the event beginning at 11 a.m.
(EDT).
Pirelli won the first Petit Le Mans in 1998 with former World
Sports Car Champion Wayne Taylor driving his Doyle Risi
Racings Ferrari 333 SP to victory. With podiums in all three
of the classes that it participated in at Miami, Pirelli is looking
forward to ending the ALMS season with a splash. Of champagne, that
is!

The race will be nationally televised on NBC Sports from 4-6 p.m.
