Once the measurements have been taken, the tailor needs to find the right fabric. If it does not exist yet, it needs to be created, tried on and checked.

The research and development behind the approval of a Pirelli tire is similar to the care a tailor takes in creating custom-made clothing. It also requires thorough testing.

The final stages of the approval process are industrialization and production, which take from three to six months. It is here that the product is launched in its final form. It is here that the interaction between the tire and the car is perfected, and it is here, finally, where the customized branding is made that guarantees its specific application to the car model it’s made for.
