Sustainability in Pirelli's history

With more than 140 years of industrial tradition and manufacturing experience with the most advanced technologies on an international scale, Pirelli has made a considerable contribution - within the bounds of its abilities and business responsibilities - to the development of products, technologies and management instruments that promote sustainable industrial development, while always pro-actively interacting with the socio-cultural context in which it operated.

Proud of the results achieved so far, Pirelli wishes to respond promptly to the increasing need of communication and discloses the information regarding its sustainability commitment and the company's results in terms of sustainable performance, in light of the ever-growing attention paid by investors to socially responsible companies.


Pirelli Group Values and Ethical Code communicated to all group employees in local languages and made available through Intranet and Internet.
  The Pirelli Policy for the Health, the Safety, the Environment and the Social Responsibility translated into all languages spoken in the Group and made available through Intranet and Internet.
Group Equal Opportunities Project established.

Establishment of an Equal Opportunities Steering Committee and appointment of the Group Equal Opportunities Manager.

A Group Equal Opportunities Manager was also appointed in 2005 to pursue greater organizational balance, to lead the Projects deployment by the Group Affiliates, and to monitor the evolution of Equal Opportunities in the Affiliates.
Pirelli included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index
Pirelli confirmed in the FTSE4GOOD Index, since its 2002 first inclusion
Environmental and safety aspects are introduced in the vendor rating system of Pirelli Tyre.
