In the period 2012-2014 an Efficiency Plan equivalent to a total of 250 million, of which 120 million in 2012, which is twice the figure envisaged in the previous plan, and the remaining 130 million distributed over the period 2013 - 2014.

This level of efficiency will be achieved by measures aimed at raw materials (use of alternative raw materials, reduction in the consumption of materials, waste and weight reduction), by improving labour productivity (optimisation of production processes, introduction of best practices in all plants, new plants designed to optimize efficiency), the reduction of fixed general and administrative costs by increasing allocation of production to countries with more competitive industrial costs.

2012 update

With the publication of the 9 months 2012 results, Pirelli has made its efficiency plan more incisive increasing it by approximately 5 million euro to approximately 155 million euro (previous target 150 million euro) to account for a greater reduction in fixed costs.
