Umile Sebastiano Iacovino

Born in Cosenza in 1961.

In 1984 he graduated in Economics at the La Sapienza University in Rome.
He is a Chartered Accountant and is enrolled in the Register of Auditor

In 1984 he was assistant auditor in Italaudit - Grant Thorton; from 1984 to 1994 he was voluteering assistant for chair of Business Finance at the La Sapienza University in Rome, held by Prof. F. Colombi.

In 1985/’86 he has been officer of Finroma S.p.A. (Banca di Roma Group), as amministrative director; in the same period he did a 6 month stage at the London branch of Banca di Roma, focused on the operational techniques of the main financial instruments used by the companies on the international markets. Between 1987 and 1992 co-operated with Prof. Colombi, Full Professor of Business Finance at the faculty of Economics of the La Sapienza University in Rome, dealing mainly with corporate mergers, sale and combinations.

Since 1998 up today he is professional in the field of corporate, tax and business-economics consultancy, also relevant to litigation to be discussed in tax commission, in requests of clarifications from the financial administration on items related to tax evasion laws, controlled foreign corporation, with particular attention focused on the pre-litigation stage, with assistance to the relationship with the administration in order to reach rulings under internal review procedure, tax assessment settlement, settlement in the court and similar procedures.

From 1990 up to 2012 he was in the Role of the Technical Consultant for the Judge and in the Role of the experts of the Roma Court.

He is member of many Boards of Statutory Auditors and Boards of Directors; in particular, he has got offices of Statutory Auditors and Chairman of the Supervisory Body and liquidator of companies of industrial groups, such as Telecom Italia S.p.A., IRI, Finmeccanica, Lottomatica S.p.A., Pirelli & C. S.p.A. and Almaviva S.p.A..

He teaches Business Economicsa and Tax Law on behalf of Link Campus University of Malta, of ISDA and of ACIFAP (both professional senior schools).

He is professor of General and Applied Accountancy at La Sapienza University of Rome, faculty of Economics.
