Green Performance Three years before the introduction of the European rules on environmental protection, Pirelli launched in 2009 its green performance tyres (Cinturato on Consumer and Serie 01). These tyres match high environmental protection (reduction of consumption, less CO2 emissions, reduction of noise pollution) with high performance. “Green performance” is Pirelli’s environmental and social sustainability philosophy on products as well as production processes.
Grip Ability by the tyre to keep a good friction ratio with road surface under all conditions of use (braking, acceleration, turning or cornering). Research on tyres (winners of several tests) and ad hoc technologies like Cyber Tyre (Link) and Cyber Wheel (Link) (not yet on the market and measure grip without changes) make it possible to always have the top standard of quality on Pirelli’s products.
Grooves depth Depth of the groove.
Industrial Includes tyres to be fitted on business vehicles for transport of goods an/or people (buses, lorries, trucks, agricultural machinery, etc.). The Industrial segment includes steel cord and agro businesses. The Industrial segment accounts for 30% of Pirelli Tyre sales.
Inflation pressure Tyres can stand loads placed on the vehicle. Incorrect pressure values have a negative impact the overall performance of the car and the mileage.
High Performance (HP) Top range tyres that can stand speeds exceeding 210 Km/h, for Car, SUV, winter, and radial for bikes. Some Pirelli HP products: Cinturato P7; P7; Cinturato P6; P6; P6000 Power Energy; Winter sottozero; P6 fourseasons.
Low-profile tyres Section height and width have a ratio less than 0.7.
