Swiss motorists prefer Pirelli – P lunga is the year’s best tyre brand for the fourth consecutive year according to ‘Auto Illustrierte’ readers

For the fourth consecutive year, Pirelli has won the ‘Best Tuning Cars & Best Brands 2009’,  the contest most liked by the readers of ‘Auto Illustrierte’ (AI), the prestigious independent Swiss motoring magazine. The ‘Best Brand’ contest has by now become an important institution of AI magazine, especially for tuning enthusiasts. Dieter Jermann, Director Swiss Market, Pirelli Tyre (Europe) SA, personally received the ‘Best Brand Award 2009’ during the l’Auto Zürich Car Show, the most important and most visited car fair in German Switzerland, which took place in the city from 5-8 November.

PIRELLI LATIN AMERICA STARTS THE WEEK OF QUALITY

Pirelli Latin America_Quality Campaign

Pirelli Latin America has launched a quality week. A packed programme of activities concentrated on the subject of quality with a 360° approach is taking place from 9-13 November in the factories of Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela.

Guided visits of production, to the test facility at Sumaré, to Pirelli dealers and suppliers; the five days will also include special lessons devoted to ‘effective actions’ for quality and how to motivate a people toward their realisation.

An innovative way to manage the subject of quality. The main objective of this week is to increase the attention and knowledge of everyone concerning quality, which is an integral part of the companies’ daily lives.

PIRELLI SUPPORTS THE VALUES OF THE CAR

Pirelli at ‘Viva l’Auto’, the event with the car as its protagonist as the friend of the environment, safe and that makes savings. Under the banner of sustainable mobility, three days were devoted to the car of the future and took place in Florence from 16-18 October, among technological innovations, road safety and the evolution of the market. An event animated by display areas, safe driving tests and a programme of conventions that saw the leaders of the sector involved alongside its institutions and the media.

Pirelli, official co-sponsor of the event, participated with a stand that showed the company’s entire Cinturato ecological range and that of the newborn Winter Snowcontrol Series II. In addition, Pirelli launched an initiative for the general public called ‘A Record Change’, a fastest tyre change challenge to make training interactive and fun.

On Saturday 17 October, Francesco Gori, managing director of Pirelli Tyre, also took part in the convention on new development scenarios of the car market and its contribution to the recovery from the crisis, together with other experts of the sector.

The event concluded with the announcement of the new Peugeot Crossover as the Auto Europa 2010 (2010 European Car of the Year), recognition that the UIGA (Union of Italian Motoring Journalists) assigned to the vehicle based on the parameters of originality, performance, safety and eco-compatibility.
