Pirelli China won “2011-2012 sustainability development in China” Outstanding Case award

Pirelli China has been selected and won “2011-2012 sustainability development in China” Outstanding Case award. This selection was organized by the Chinese Economic Observer.

Organizers evaluated the enterprises in the implementation in China from three core dimensions: economic performance, eco-environmental protection and social responsibility. In particular, our contribution to continuously research and development of green high-performance tyres has been unanimously affirmed.

The Economic Observer is considered to be one of the top three economic-focused newspapers in China and is well regarded for its in-depth special features and commentary，which is much inspired by the British Financial Times. The theme of this selection was “Vision decides the Future”, to look at how, as a public citizen, enterprises can optimize their ethical and social responsibility practices to better help society and vehicles achieve a harmonious coexistence.

The jury agreed that the Pirelli China has made an outstanding contribution from 2011-2012 on the research and development of the green tyre, improving the ecological environment, promoting enterprise and local social harmony, promoting local education and cultural development.

Pirelli Top of Mind

The question is: “What is the first brand that comes to mind when talking about tyres?”

In Brazil, the 42% of the consumers involved in the Datafolha Institute survey answered ‘Pirelli’.

That’s how we won for the 10th consecutive year, the Folha Top of Mind Award in the category Tyres.
The prize was awarded on the evening of October 24th at HSBC Brazil in Sao Paulo. The winners were presented ​​by Brazilian actors Dan Stulbach and Nivea Stelmann.
Additionally, we also achieved the Top of Mind award in the male category: we are the most remembered brand from all sectors by the male public.

FTSE4GOOD: PIRELLI SCORE IS 100/100

Pirelli is once again confirmed as the only Italian company in the Automobile&Parts sector to be included in the FTSE4Good Index.

The six monthly revision conducted by the independent agency EIRIS has reconfirmed Pirelli in the share indices for responsible investment of the London Stock Exchange FTSE4Good (FTSE Global and FTSE4Good Europe) with a score of 100 points out of 100, a further increase on the 99 points of March 2012 and the 98 of September 2011. Pirelli, which has been part of the FTSE4Good indices since 2002, has also been reconfirmed as the only Italian company in the Automobile&Parts sector to be included in the indices.

The FTSE4Good indices only include those companies which, on the basis of an independent evaluation conducted by the British agency EIRIS, respond to the stringent criteria of sustainable economic, social and environmental performance.

As well as other company characteristics, the evaluation includes the sustainable management of the supply chain, the regulations and instruments adopted for corporate governance, environmental management and performance as well as the policies put into effect and results achieved in the area of relations with each of its stakeholders.
