Pirelli is the first Italian corporation in the classification of ‘Global Powers of Consumer Products’, the annual list of the 250 principal producers of consumer goods in the world compiled by Deloitte, one of the planet’s biggest companies of consultancy and review services.
In the 2009 edition, drawn up on the basis of the 2007 fiscal year, Pirelli moves up from 108th to 86th place, followed by Ferrero (100th), Barilla (123rd), Parmalat (129th), Indesit Company (144th) and Cremonini (207th).
The research by Deloitte has become essential reading for those who operate in, and follow, the evolution of the retail market. This year, the classification is dominated by electronics, with South Korea’s Samsung Electronics having become the biggest production company in the world, followed by Hewlett-Packard and Nestlé.
