CINTURATO LEADER OF GREEN PERFORMANCE

The Cinturato P7 and P6 passed the tests carried out by ADAC with flying colours. ADAC is the most important and prestigious automobile club in both Germany and Europe, with over 19 million members.
So Pirelli confirms its leadership in terms of performance, safety and eco-compatibility, demonstrating yet again to have made the philosophy and driving values of “Green Performance” its own.

The test results, which have also been distributed through the automobile clubs of Austria and Switzerland (the OAMTC and TCS), show how the Cinturato P7 and P6 are extremely reliable tyres and, therefore, considered strongly recommendable to users. During the tests, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 turned out to be the best tyre that marries a high level of performance in both the wet and dry with low rolling resistance, greater mileage and reduced sound emission. This is the result of Pirelli’s approach to green performance, which has permitted the company to conquer a position of leadership by combining safety, performance and eco-compatibility.
There were similar results for the Cinturato P6, which not only beat all tyres in its tests, but it is also the only cover to be able to take its place in the Green Performance area.

A WINTER FOR CHAMPIONS, WITH PIRELLI WINTER TYRES

The game against winter has begun. The Pirelli team is on the pitch, with its reliability champions. The voice of the commentator of this challenge to low temperatures echoes from the speakers, announcing the winter team over the microphones of Italian radio stations.
A new radio advertising campaign for Pirelli winter tyres was launched on Sunday.
A 30 second spot, built around the parallels between a football match and the performance of winter tyres on the most dangerous terrains will be broadcast throughout November by the major Italian radio stations (Radio 105, Virgin Radio, Radio Montecarlo, RTL, Radio dee jay, RDS, Radio RAI, Radio 24) and local stations that serve geographical areas particularly affected by cold weather.
In addition to the planned broadcasts of about 2,000 spots, the campaign includes sponsorship of the main radio programmes on weather and road transport, with information and advice on how to cope with the cold weather.
An advertising campaign rich in information, to increase drivers’ awareness of the importance of using winter tyres, and how they can improve road safety in the winter.

CINTURATO AND P ZERO ON THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS MODELS OF THE 63rd FRANKURT MOTOR SHOW

Pirelli’s Cinturato family tyres (recognised by major European certifying institutions as the most ecological and safest tyre range available in the market) and the P Zero family (which is proven to be the preferred for high performance sports cars) have become the most popular tyres among the stands of the most prestigious automobile companies, fitted on the most awaited models of the 63^rd Frankfurt International Motor Show.
The two supercars of the Frankfurt International Motor Show, the new Ferrari 458 Italia and the McLaren MP4 12 C, were both displayed with P Zero tyres, the most ultra high performance tyres of the entire range.
The flagship models of the Maserati racing (Quattroporte, Granturismo and Grancabrio ) were also fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres, as well as the Lamborghini Murcielago, Gallardo and Gallardo Spider; Aston Martin V12 Vantage, Lotus Evora, Bentley CTC, SuperSport, GT Speed, and the new Mulsanne.
Furthermore, the Swedish Volvo and Saab displayed in the Motor Show were fitted with P Zero Rosso tyres: Volvo XC 60, Volvo S80 Executive and Saab 9-3X have chosen the PZero Ultra High Performance version, which combines sport with an extraordinary acoustic comfort thanks to their new tread design.
Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico tyres have also made their appearance in the International Motor Show; they will be fitted on the Volvo XC 70 and XC 60”R design”.
Green performance and safety are the two keywords for modern motor vehicles, where Cinturato P6 and P7 are the leading ranges, recognised as the best tyres by Dekra (a major independent certifying institution of the car industry) and by TÜV (the German certifying institution), for their low environmental impact and safety. Moreover, Cinturato P7 has been chosen as original equipment by Audi (A4, A4 Allroad, A5), Mercedes (E Class, S Class), Alfa Romeo (the new 147), BMW (X1, Series 1, Series 3) and Volvo (S80, V70), and for the latest and most prestigious models of class E, some of which are also exhibited in the Frankfurt International Motor Show.

DOUBLE TRIUMPH FOR PIRELLI AT THE CHINA TYRE ENTERPRISE SUMMIT 2009

The most prestigious prize at the 2009 edition of the China tyre Enterprise Summit went to the Cinturato P7, voted “The Best New Tyre of the Year”. And the high performing P Zero tyre won the title of “The Best Ultra-High Performance Tyre”, thanks to its excellent performance compared to that of its competitors. The centre of the debate of the summit, focussed on ecosustainability, energy saving and environmental protection, was the search for new eco-compatible materials, and the introduction of new and increasingly green tyre and technologies.

Winning two such important prices demonstrates how the world of industry appreciates the policies of safety and respect for the environment that Pirelli has pursued in recent years, and which it continues to believe in, always combining respect for the environment and high performance.

PIRELLI LAUNCHES ITS NEW LONG DISTANCE TYRE IN EGYPT

A new long distance tyre for the local Egyptian market for personal transport for tourism was unveiled in Cairo on 2 July. In the presence of the managers of the largest fleets of tourist vehicles in Egypt, and the major distributors of tyres in the country, Pirelli presented the FH65, its new tyre with directional tread for steering axles that can guarantee longer life with maximum comfort and handling.

Compared to previous solutions, this new product has a more innovative structure in terms of both performance and safety. The tread is a product of the new dual layer technology that associates two types of mix: the outer layer favours wear and stress-resistance, while the low hysteresis inner layer reduces heat generation and helps the shoulder resist lacerations. A new tread that increases safety and improves driving comfort, elements that further recommend this tyre to tourism companies.
