Employee Statistics
The headcount at December 31, 2011 was 34,259 employees, including the acquisition of 2,772 employees at the Kirov, Russia plant in December 2011.
Pirelli Tyre headcount is characterised by a strong international presence with a significant portion in Central and South America (43%), followed by Europe (36%), while MEA/Asia-Pacific and North America represent 20% and 2% respectively of total labour force.
The overall change in employees in 2011 was characterised by substantial growth.
In emerging markets, the increases in production volume contributed to expansion of the workforce in China, Romania, Brazil, Turkey – following the start-up of Formula 1 tyre production – and Mexico, where training was planned for the start-up of the new factory.
